I spent over a year photographing this small, South Lakeland woodland, visiting regularly and taking a lot of photographs. I came to love the place dearly and now often visit just to sit and appreciate its quiet beauty. Although I predominantly use a DSLR, I tried to think in square format when creating these images, although, as you can see, I did not always succeed. I also enjoyed the challenge that photographing in a wood brought; as I was surrounded by trees I was unable to look, as I normally would, into the middle distance and was forced instead to look at what was at my feet or above my head.
